Marriage Counselling at Olive Minds

About this service

Every marriage moves through seasons. Marriage counselling is a balanced space to talk about what feels difficult and reconnect with what still works — whether you're adjusting to early married life, navigating family dynamics, or rebuilding after a rupture. Coming here is not a sign of failure; it's a sign you care enough to try.

Who it may help

  • Early marriage or adjustment feels overwhelming
  • Family and in-law dynamics are adding tension
  • You keep having the same conflict
  • You're making a big decision together
  • You want pre-marital conversations before you commit

Our approach & your first session

Sessions are even-handed, so neither partner feels blamed. Dr. Nayyar helps you understand the patterns behind recurring conflict and communicate in ways that lower the temperature. Pre-marital sessions focus on expectations, communication and shared decisions before marriage. Throughout, the pace and goals are set by you as a couple.

What to expect first time

Your first session is a gentle conversation — a chance to talk about what brought you here and what you'd like to feel differently. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to, and by the end you'll have a sense of how working together might help.

Online & in-person availability

This service is available in person in New Delhi and online by video. You can choose whichever suits you, or switch between the two as your week allows. Sessions are led by Dr. Anjuman Nayyar, a counselling psychologist with over 35 years' experience.

Common questions

Not at all. Many couples come to strengthen communication, prepare for marriage, or work through a specific decision. Coming early, before things feel serious, often makes the biggest difference.

Yes. Pre-marital sessions are a thoughtful way to talk through expectations, communication styles, family dynamics and shared decisions before marriage, at your own pace.

That's a common and valid starting point. One partner can begin alone, and the other is welcome to join when they feel ready. Change often begins with one person.

Yes. Couples can attend together in person in New Delhi, or online by video — including from different locations if needed.

Sessions can be conducted in Hindi, English or Punjabi, whichever helps you both express yourselves most comfortably.

No. The role is to help both of you feel heard and understood, not to judge who is right. Sessions stay balanced so you can make decisions together.

This is discussed and reviewed together. Some couples attend for a focused period around a specific issue; others value longer support. There's no fixed commitment required.
